High-end exploded view animation of wireless earbuds designed to showcase internal components, touch interaction, and smart features.
The project was fully created from scratch, including 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and exploded technical breakdown, with cinematic rendering and professional post-production.
Tools used: Blender for modeling, shading, lighting, and rendering, and After Effects for compositing, motion graphics, labels, glow effects, and color grading.

The problem

Wireless earbuds sell on what you can't see. The driver, the microphone array, the touch sensor — all of it sits inside a shell the size of a thumbnail, and a photograph shows none of it. The added difficulty here: the product is gloss black. Photographed on a dark set it disappears; lit flatly it turns into a grey blob. The brief was to make a small black object read as precision-engineered hardware, and to make its internals legible without turning the film into a diagram.

The approach

I built the earbuds and charging case from scratch in Blender and lit them so the form is drawn by reflection rather than by fill light — a dark stage with controlled highlights running along the edges, so the gloss shell reads as a shape instead of a silhouette. The film opens on the closed case, opens the lid, isolates a single earbud, then splits it along its axis into an exploded view where the driver, microphone and sensor are called out with thin leader lines. A blue waveform environment carries the acoustic idea underneath the whole sequence, and a UI ring animates the touch interaction. Compositing, labels, glow and grade were finished in After Effects.

The result

A 21-second film that makes the internal engineering visible and keeps the product looking premium while doing it. The exploded section works as a standalone asset for spec pages and trade-show loops; the closed-case shots work as hero footage for a launch or a store page. Self-initiated study.
