Sixty-second product film for a four-SKU skincare range: amber glass dropper, frosted pump bottle, aluminium cap and a cream jar. Sequence moves from individual hero shots to a styled group composition.

The problem

A hair oil is a small bottle of liquid — visually, almost nothing. The product can't demonstrate what it does, so the film has to sell the promise instead: natural origin, purity, botanical ingredients. That means the environment carries the message, not the object, which is the opposite of a studio product film. It also means the hardest shots aren't the bottle at all — they're the ones a viewer takes for granted: a water droplet forming on a leaf, sunlight through foliage, oil moving inside glass.

The approach

The whole piece was built as a natural environment in Blender rather than a set: layered vegetation, scattered foliage, rock and grass, lit with warm directional sun and heavy atmospheric depth so the greens read as living rather than plastic. The film moves from wide landscape, to a macro droplet on a leaf, to the oil suspended in air, into the bottle itself — a chain that ties the ingredient to the product before the product ever appears. The oil inside the glass was shaded as a tinted transmissive liquid with visible bubbles and meniscus, and the ingredients orbit the bottle as a scattered composition. The film closes on the brand name built out of the same botanical material as the world around it. Grade, atmosphere and finishing in After Effects.

The result

A 20-second brand film for a natural hair oil — the format cosmetics brands run as a launch hero, a website header, or a paid social asset. It shows the range beyond studio work: full environment construction, botanical scattering, transmissive liquid, and organic type integration, all in one piece. Self-initiated study.
